At the Jerome Lejeune Foundation USA we believe that no one lab or one country will find a solution to improving lives with Down syndrome or other genetic intellectual disabilities. Therefore, we are committed to encouraging the best investigators across the globe doing research in basic science as well as those working to bring scientific discoveries to clinical application.
Projects submitted for funding by investigators working on the American Continent are managed by the US office of the Foundation and reviewed by the U.S. Scientific Advisory Board for approval. Our office in Paris oversees our twice-annual call for grants, and manages all other projects, disbursing funds to researchers in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. These projects are reviewed by our Scientific Advisory Board in France.
All projects submitted to the Foundation for consideration of funding must meet the Foundation's strict ethical guidelines. Researchers must certify that projects funded by the Jerome Lejeune Foundation will not make use of human embryonic or fetal material derived from a direct abortion.
Of course, the grant making process begins with your tax-deductible financial contributions to the Jerome Lejeune Foundation. All the projects listed on the following spreadsheets are ther result of the generosity of our donors. On behalf of all those researchers we are able to support, and especially on behalf of all those living with genetic intelletual disabilities that we serve - THANK YOU!
