Stories of Love and Hope

Receiving a prenatal or postnatal diagnosis of Down syndrome, or another genetic disability can be the start of a dark and fearful time for many families. With these STORIES OF LOVE AND HOPE, we offer consolation to families through the love that is so clearly expressed by mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters of those with a genetic intellectual disability.

Enjoy the stories presented here. Please share them with your family and friends, and especially with those you may know who have received a prenatal diagnosis and are facing difficult decisions at a time of grief and uncertainty. Those who have lived through that fear and welcomed these special children into their families know the special love a child with a disability can bring. Perhaps the single most convincing factor for a family who may be encouraged to abort a pregnancy after prenatal diagnosis are the heartwarming stories others are willing to share.

Please share your stories as well. We will be happy to post them here. And please share your photos, too. Don't keep the beauty of your family to yourself.
