Q. How do I promote my fundraiser?
A. You can spread the word on Social Media, by word of mouth, through a postal mailing or by email. You can also share the Jerome Lejeune Foundation's social media outlets with your friends and encourage them to "like" us so they can remain in touch with us.
Q. What do I do with donations from my event?
A. You can find all the information about handling and submitting donations here.
Q. Are there any rules for fundraising?
A. Only honesty and integrity. If you are enthusiastic about supporting the Jerome Lejeune Foundation, your friends may be too. Best practice in fundraising is to follow up after asking people for support. If someone tells you that they will get back to you, ask them when you can call or visit again, and then be certain to keep that appointment.
Q. How do I get started?
Take a deep breath, and then decide on the best way for you to raise money that would make you the most comfortable. Sometimes people feel awkward asking for money directly, but you have to realize that what you are really doing is offering your friends an opportunity to support a cause that you believe in. We recommend making a personal donation to your own fundraiser to show your supporters how much you care. Then you can check out our Materials and Messages page for important guidelines and materials that we have made available to you to assist you with your efforts! We are here to help. Never hesitate to call us for support.
Q. I want to provide information about the Foundation or learn more so that I can educate people. What information can I use?
A. There are many resources at our webpage. We have also provided a Materials and Messages page where you can download and print information about the Foundation, or share it online as well. If there is anything you feel would be helpful to you that you don't see, just ask.
Q. Am I allowed to use the Foundation's logo?
A. A logo is an organization's official insignia and its use is privileged. If you would like to use our logo to support your communications efforts on behalf of the Foundation, please contact us first for permission so we can approve your request and keep track of where it is being used.
Q. Will my supporters receive tax receipts for their donations?
A. Yes! We will provide acknowledgement letters with tax receipts to donors who we have name and address information for. It is important that your supporters fill out the donations forms, or at least provide you with their address, so we can follow up accordingly. More information can be found on our Handling and Submitting Donations page.
Q. Can a Jerome Lejeune Foundation representative attend my event?
A. We cannot guarantee this, but contact us with your request and we will see what we can do. Events planned in the Philadelphia area are easiest for us to accomodate. If you wish to schedule an event with several people attending, we will do all we can to be there with you.
