Pioneering innovative therapies to improve the lives of those with genetic intellectual disabilities
The Jerome Lejeune Foundation primarily serves those with Down syndrome, but just as Jerome Lejeune was interested in and conducted research into other genetic intellectual disabilities, so the foundation supports research to improve the lives of those living with any of these disabilities.
Most common, and even not-so-common disabilities have advocacy and support organizations that provide specialized information for families. Many of them fund research as well. We have provided through the links below some basic information on some of the more common genetic disabilities that result in cognitive delays.
