Go back to Fundraising Toolkit

There are many ways you can help fundraise! Below are just some ideas you can use to plan and execute your fundraising initiatives. Have an idea that you don't see here? We'd love to heart about it!

Events for Youth

  • Bake sale, lemonade stand, etc
  • Car wash
  • Dance-a-thon
  • Penny collection at school
  • Lawn mowing, snow shoveling
  • Talent show

Easy Events/Initiatives

  • Garage sale
  • Adult social events with a speaker: Give family members, local supporters and resource group members the opportunity to learn about the Foundation
  • Host a screening of the documentary on Jerome Lejeune and invite a minimum of 30 guests. If you get a group of over 50 we are happy to come talk to your group
  • Spare change/penny drive: Put jars around town and in classrooms for a month to collect spare change. Add an initiative by offering prizes for the business, homeroom, or dorm that can raise the most
  • Partner with a business: Ask a store, local business, or restaurant to donate a portion of their proceeds for any given time to the Foundation

Fun

  • Run a raffle
  • Ask a local band to help you put on a concert
  • Designate the Foundation to receive donations for a Buddy Walk, 5k, etc
  • Get yourself sponsored to do something on behalf of the mission of the Foundation and ask your friends and family to pledge support. Some examples:
    • Marathon
    • Triathlon

At Work

  • Mass email about your fundraiser at work (with permission, of course), and remind people about company matching gifts
  • Loose change bucket
  • Ask your business to donate a certain percentage of its profit for a day/week/month

Special Occassions

  • In honor/memory of a loved one
  • Ask for donations in lieu of birthday gifts or flowers for a funeral, etc
  • Designate the Foundation as charity for a holiday party you host

At your Place of Worship

  • Speak about the Foundation's mission at your place of worship and pass around a basket for a special offering
  • Talk to your pastor about beginning a disabilities ministry and name it for Jerome Lejeune
